It's a sick, sick world at times!
Aug. 17th, 2002 02:59 pmSorry to have such a depressing entry but there are some sick and twisted people out there.
Firstly, over the past 2 or 3 weeks there has been a hunt going on in England for two 10 year old schoolgirls who disappeared. Last night a couple, a caretaker and a teaching assistant, who knew the girls, voluntarily went to the police to talk to them and this morning it was revealed they've been arrested on suspicion of the murder and abduction of the 2 girls. The girls haven't been found yet though.
Another horrible thing to have happened was that my friend was out with her fiancé and another friend last night and her drink was spiked while she wasn't looking. Fortunately her fiancé took her home as soon as she started feeling ill so nothing really bad happened to her but she's still a little shaky today.
It really gets me angry thinking there are people so willing to harm other people just for kicks and that they're so cowardly as to either pick people who'll be helpless or do what they can to make them helpless.
As ever though, there are positive things to balance out the negative feelings, even if it is only from my perspective. I've a holiday in London with Ollie to look forward to, and my birthday on Wednesday. Dealing with reality has to be done but it's nice to put it off every now and again and give yourself a break from it all.
