Gaaah! How long since I last updated?
Apr. 6th, 2004 09:08 pmLife generally getting in the way. Not busy per se, just not managing to get on here to update or not enough to update about.....my life can be so boring at times. The major things that have happened are few and far between really.
Moved offices at work which was just insane! We're in a smaller office space but it's not too cramped (although any smaller and it would be). The company was split over 2 buildings before but now we're all in the same one so the good thing is we're now meeting people we'd only really talked to on the phone. It's weird to think that there's people in the office 500 yards down the street that I'd never saw until now.
Spent some time with Ollie's best man and his wife at the weekend. They have an 18 month old daughter who's such a cutie. She's really starting to talk now and has also mastered an evil laugh thanks to her dad. We had a nice time and ideas for a stag night were getting discussed, with the best man's wife and I vetoing the more outrageous ones. *LOL*
My hamster Rusty died the other week. I went to his cage to feed him and he was curled up in his bedding, seemingly asleep, but not breathing. I was pretty upset about it and what made it worse was I had nowhere to bury him so I had to get him cremated at the vet. Ever the glutton for punishment though, I got a new hamster on Saturday. Her name is Mimi, she's an albino Syrian and I'm having to tame her completely. Rusty was so tame when I got him that I could take him out of the cage and handle him with no problems from day 1 but Mimi's majorly skittish.
Rehearsals started on Sunday for the Tempo concert being performed at the end of May. It's gonna be a tribute to the Jazz music of the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. We've rehearsed 'Unforgettable' and 'In The Mood' so far. Harmonies sound brilliant but as usual are absolute murder to sing and remember properly. Also got the news that we're reprising 'Annie' in the Fringe since it went down so well in January. The performances are in the week up to my birthday and the last night is on my birthday so I'll be enjoying the after-show party more than usual. ;-)
Auditions for Showcase will be in the next few weeks, looking forward to that. It'll be tough and I'll be lucky to get in but the audition experience will be good. The thing is the company membership is about 75-70% female so I'll really have to make an impact to be successful in getting in. Ollie probably won't have the same trouble if he auditions.
Anyway, not much else going on at the moment. Weekend after next is a Menzies/WH Smith reunion type thing which should prove to be an interesting night one way or another. If nothing else, there'll be anecdotes from that.
