Okay, time to update (long overdue)
Oct. 17th, 2004 12:00 pmWell things are good just now. The stuff that was bothering me before has kinda been sorted out now. Work is still going fine - a lot better than my last one that's for sure. I'm so glad I quit there.
I'm having a great time rehearsing for Fiddler on the Roof. I have an audition tonight for the part of either Fruma Sarah or Grandma Tzeitel which should be a challenge. We've all been put in family units as well and I'm the mother in mine which is freaky because my "son" and "daughter" are 17 and 22 (I think) respectively and both substantially taller than me and my "husband".
I went to see 5 Children and It yesterday. I couldn't miss it because it has Eddie Izzard as the voice of the Psammead and I loved it! Eddie has some really hilarious moments (some of which I'm convinced are pure ad-libs) so I'll be looking to buy it when it comes out on DVD. I've had some quotes from the film in my head ever since we left the cinema.
I also had a bit of a shock yesterday. I'd had a vision test earlier this week at work - just a routine check to make sure that your vision is okay to use VDUs and isn't being damaged by them. I was told my intermediate vision was fine which means I can use VDUs fine but the Occupational Health Nurse recommended I see about getting glasses as my left eye is very weak and my vision comes mostly from my right eye. I got an eye test yesterday at boots and got my prescription. I need to wear glasses all the time now and my left eye has a prescription of +4.00 - yikes! It also cost me £155 in all for the eye test and my new glasses - I'm now officially broke until pay-day a week this coming Thursday. Not fun!
